My name is Jack Stremsterfer, and I’ve been working in theatre since 10th grade.
(They/Them/Theirs)
Of course, I had experience with theatre before high school, as I had to perform in a few of Shakespeare’s works in elementary and middle school, but I really fell into theatre when my theatre teacher asked someone else to help out, not me. They declined the role of Spotlight Operator, so I threw my hat into the ring and began my life of tech rehearsals and props lists.
I quickly moved from Spot Op to Run Crew before finally settling in as the Props Designer in my high school theatre troop, where I managed to prop 4 different shows in two years, also working as a Production Assistant, Assistant Stage Manager (twice), and even acting a couple times; but props is where my heart is.
Since then, I have attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO, pursuing a B.A. in Theatre Arts. I’m a Theatre Design and Technology major with an emphasis in props. I am currently halfway through my senior year and have had some wonderful opportunities to work on the most captivating shows with some truly lovely people. I have even worked for the Little Theatre of the Rockies on their 2022 Summer lineup!
As I continue down this artistically dramatic road, I hope to gain more knowledge in my field, experiment with different tools and materials, and meet and work with many new people! I hope you’re one of them!
